Restless Leg Syndrome
Restless leg syndrome (RLS) is a neurological condition that is characterized by the irresistible urge to move the legs. RLS can cause difficulty in falling or staying asleep which can be one of the chief complaints of the syndrome. A substantial number of people who have RLS also have periodic limb movement of sleep (PLMS). Research into the cause of RLS is ongoing and answers are limited. While there is no cure for RLS, there are many nonpharmaceutical and pharmaceutical therapies that help ease RLS symptoms.
